Saw this dolly in Harbor Freight with "indoor" solid rubber tires and
thought to myself... hmmm self... you could take this dolly,
cut it down, and use it to move games around.
(Actually, a friend at work did the cutting/welding)
I cut it down to 30" to fit under the control panels, covered the
frame in 3/4" pipe insulation (grip and anti-marring) and put
some rubber on the toe plate to help it not slip.
Tip the game back a wee bit, slide the dolly under and you can
tip it forward and move it with ease. I always find putting games into
their final spots a pita, and this makes it a breeze.

Not a required tool, but for $30, I like it :)

just thought I'd share...

Nice. Doesn't that make the upright pretty top heavy when
moving them around?

Yeah, its not the right tool for hauling a game a long way. Its really
only for shuffling them around in the room. The weight distribution
isn't bad actually. It beats my old method of sitting on the floor and
pushing the game with my legs!

Of course, there may be some technique for "placing" games that I just
haven't learned yet!

Tim,

You could just install those slick leg levelers as they work great on wear
ever style carpet. I've got them on my games and all I do is open the coin
door to have a place to grab the cab and with one arm I can pull the game
out from the wall. They slide back just as easy. I've moved a GnG,
Tempest, Galaga and LOTR pin with ease.

Of course your way is fun too.

I agree with Chris, I put all those teflon sliding levelers on all my games
and I can moved them around with ease and not have to worry about scratching
the floor. From what I hear, they even work great on carpet. I think I
bought 50 sets at one time, so I would never run out of them for a verrryyy
long time!!

Hopefully this idea hasn't been copyrighted, because I just asked the
welder here at my shop to hook me up.

I bought brand new leg levelers for all my games as well as those
coasters... problem is, my padding is too thick so, even on my berber
carpet, the games end up jumping off the coasters. SUPREMELY
annoying... particularly since the carpet guy convinced me not to go
with my original plans (long story that I'll expound upon when I
finally debut my gameroom).

This midget dolly is just what the doctor ordered for situations like
mine.

Later,
Rob

The leg levelers Brian and I were talking about actually have Teflon
bases...it is not a separate coaster. Some guy from the pin groups was
selling them in big lots.

Rob,
I'll copyright this idea here and now! patent pending, trademark,
copyleft etc... (lol)
FWIW, I will state that this design (if I was actually the first to do
it) is in the public domain for all to do with as they please.

cheers!

Oh, yeah, I looked for those. No luck.

Still, though, even with them, the legs would sink too far into the
carpet padding to help much.
