What is a Seven Day Seven Day Roguelike Challenge Logo?

A Seven Day Seven Day Roguelike Challenge Logo is a logo for an
Annular Seven Day Roguelike Challenge, created in seven days. This
means the artist stopped doodling one hundred and sixty eight hours
after they started scribbling drawings.

More details can be found at the RogueTemple thread:
http://roguetemple.com/forums/index.php?topic=1469.0
--------------

A Seven Day Seven Day Roguelike Challenge Logo (7D7DRLCL) can be drawn
at any time. However, a particular agreement was reached that it would
be fun to schedule a specific week for a challenge. This allows the
various artists to know that others are also desperately exporting
their logos to their best quality on the 167th hour.

The week for the Seven Day Seven Day Roguelike Challenge Logo
Challenge has been chosen!

Within the week of January 29th to February 6h, you are hereby
challenged to sketch a seven days roguelike challenge logo in 168
hours!

To participate, follow these simple steps:

1) Any time on January 29th or 30th (as measured in your time zone),
post to rec.games.roguelike.development that you have started work on
your Seven Day Roguelike Challenge Logo.
2) Design a logo.
3) After 168 hours, if you have completed a cute logo, post your
success to roguetemple and/or r.g.r.d! If not, post your lack of
results to roguetemple and/or r.g.r.d, where we will all commiserate
and agree that, given a few scant more hours, it could have been
great.

Good Luck with your Logos!

Excellent idea! It'd be great to have a new batch of logos every year
that we can incorporate into our 7DRLs. I think it'll be awesome! :D

Uhmm... it's two minutes after 30th in my time zone, but I guess my clock _might_ be three minutes early. So, I take the challenge and you will here from me in 168 hours. I hope it goes better than my 7drls.

Starting late but let's call it 168 hours from January 30th 23:59 my
time (NZST/UTC+13) which means I finish on Sunday February 6th at
23:59pm

not at all. And I have thought about joining every single 7drl challenge, including the first one (now here's something to tell my grandchildren). I have never even managed to fail.

I'm going to be doing another couple of concepts first, if I choose
that one to develop (it's my favourite so far, I have some others that
I didn't even like enough to publish) I'll definitely bump up the
contrast a bit :)

I plan to redo the screen as that one is borrowed from the Nuvola icon
set. It's LGPL so it's OK to use it but it doesn't really match what I
want to do.

Nice!

Maybe get rid of the periods in places which aren't actually part of the
letters, to make the letters stand out more...

Too late. I've run out of time, so my undeveloped concepts will have
to stand as my entry.

Are there really only two entries?

What's the point of the 7day restriction then, other than the cute name...?

A combo of the two entries would be cool, I think: the "Calender" [sic]
layout, only rendered as a roguelike map, with each day on the calendar
as a room, and the "@" in the last one...

Those are just my two entries, there are others. Krice and eyenot at
least that I know of.

Upsetting that awareness wasnt better distributed. That suggests there
should be a site or another post for reviewing the entries "officially"
and casting votes.
