Well I finally got myself a flintstones but wanted to change the trans.
I have a couple of leftover copies of the adult version but thought I
wanted one that was more family friendly as my 1 year old daughter is
growing up quickly. So heres what I have. I will make these available
on ebay or if anyone wants one they can contact me directly at
pugs...@gmail.com. Thanks

Are you selling them? Are they officially licensed?

I think these are going to have copyright issues. Though the pics are
nice.

Do NOT put these on eBay. This is clearly an IP issue you're f-ing
around with. Some where in the Williams agreement it states something
to the effect of, "As a Williams rights holder you are legally
enforced to report any copyright infringement of other illegal use of
Williams owned property." Paraphrasing of course. You can be assured
Rick at Planetary Pinball will be sending a cease and desist if you
throw it on eBay.
I know of several inkers that make stuff like this - word of mouth is
how they sell. No eBay or posting it on their websites. I personally
see nothing wrong with it because they aren't making any money on this
type of stuff anyway.

This would NOT create any issue with PP. Reproducing the original FS
translite would be a problem. Neither PP nor WMS owns any copyright to
the cartoon artwork, characters, etc. on this translite. You are free to
put any darned translite you want into your pins.

OTOH, this translite could create copyright issues with Hanna-Barbera
(or its assignees), which does own the copyrights to the Flintstones
cartoon characters...

Not could, if it's unlicensed it will create a copyright issue with
whoever holds the IP rights. They are obligated to stop any
unauthorized use of their property or else they can lose the
rights. People don't realize, it's not like Disney is worried about
some person making $5 off a homemade Mickey Mouse t-shirt. It's more
like, if in court, it can be shown that Disney knew about the
infringement and did nothing, would set a precedent that they are
relinquishing unique control of the property. They must C&D any
unauthorized use of their property in order to prove it's theirs to
control. This is probably also why the guy who owns the Gottlieb
stuff is such a hard ass about letting people publish certain material
online.

Now if you want to do what Gottlieb did in the 80s, and come up with
"pseudo" versions of popular themes like "Gold Wings" (ripoff of "Top
Gun") and "Raven" (ripoff of "Rambo") you can do it if you don't copy
the original art, but if you do, without permission, it's illegal.

Or like WMS did with MedMadness (ripoff of Monty Python) and NoGoodGophers
(ripoff of Caddyshack)...
