Something about hanging around Craigslist non-stop, fighting with the
masses like brides at a Wedding dress sale, and being able to drop
everything and rush over to pick up the pin, that doesn't even make a
deal like this appealing to me. (assuming it is legitimate.)

I am still waiting for the person to come in my store, see I collect
pinball, and say "I have a.... hmmm, I think its Addams or something in
my basement, been there for 15 years. You can have it if you come get
it."

Still waiting....

I gotta go with LLoyd on this one.

An ad like this would get about 100 replies in 30 seconds.

Seriously - just try it yourself. I've posted fake ads just to see
what would happen, and that's how it goes down.

The seller would immediately realize that they had vastly underpriced
their goods and would repost or start a CL auction.

It's highly unlikely that these games exist, much less were sold for
$800 for the pair.

That should make you all feel better.

Not really; I was hoping somebody got a good deal! (Not as good as my $2.50 Flash,
though. ;) )

That makes one of you.

People get FURIOUS when they lose out on these deals, it oozes from
their posts.

Don't get me started on that $500 Krull!

There are a few more of us out there. Though often envious, I can also be happy for
the guy who gets a good deal.

I'm oozing sunshine and rainbows today for a change of pace! (Offsets the

I’m oozing tar and feathers. And what the hell does the weather have to

Oh good, the crowd caught up to you! When I said "he went thataway" and pointed in
the direction of Colorado I was worried I wasn't being specific enough. :)

The weather inside is determined solely by your attitude. I'm choosing that the
inside shall not match the outside!

Well, there was the $500 Spirit on Chicago CL last year that was
legit. An $800 HUO Fathom in Ohio last year.

These deals do exist.

It does happen. Of course, I think in the past year, things have gotten
harder as more people are willing to offer more money on the great
deals. Plus, all the flagging going on these days. Annoying.

The cabinet on that fathom in Ohio was pretty beat up/touched up and
the backglass was bubbled. Playfield was pretty good, but really
dirty/faded. I guess it could have been HUO, but if it was it got
played AND MOVED a lot!

I turned down a $200 Gottlieb Playball that was beat to death but had
a perfect (ok, super nice) backglass. I was actually proud of walking
away from it knowing it may be worth more than that in parts (???) if
you happened to already have one... That one sat on CL for a week and
noone even bothered to look at it until I got to it.

A friend of mine emailed me yesturday to ask if I would restore a
spirit pf. I asked if it is the one I replied to on CL, and he said it
was one of the two that he got. He is not a flipper, and has to be one
of the nicest guys on earth, so finally there was a little CL justice.
And niether games are for sale.
So, yes. It was legit.
