2013 Allentown show spreadsheet?

It's taboo on RGP I think is more like it. The organizers feel it takes away from the show. If too many deals are made outside the gate, it may reduce the quantity and quality of the games in the free play area or possibly the flea market. If someone on Mr. P offers a game for sale, can deliver to Allentown, who's to stop them? Realize that part of the biggest expense in getting a desired game could involve NAVL, I once paid 400, and never again. But the spreadsheet is more or less designed for out of the gate deals. I understand why it is frowned upon by the persons who bust their ass making Pinfest one of the best shows in the country.... just one man's opinion.

That is too bad. I don't understand how it can be prevented. I hope the creator reconsiders.

I have mixed feelings on this personally. I can definitely see how
games that were going to be for sale on the show floor could sell
ahead of time and wind up not being displayed.

The flip side to this is that I made a deal from the spreadsheet to
get a game at the show that never would have ended up in the flea
market or free play area anyway. I also spent a lot of money on parts
for it at the show.

I suppose a "Wanted To Buy" here with Allentown as the meeting place
would be just as effective, but I did like the spreadsheet.

Good point, most of the East Coast meets at Allentown, even parts are often sold with the premise of exchange at Allentown. I bought a machine off of RGP a year ago, paid the balance in Allentown loaded the game up across the street. The Seller would have not put the game on the show floor anyhow. It makes sense for people selling multiple games to have a buyer lined up for that game. Who on Earth would bring 3 games not knowing which ones would sell and for how much? If I know my game X might sell but games Y and Z are already sold, I get in the gate and put game X on free play up for sale. If nobody was buying games Y and Z I wouldn't even load them in my truck. Too much of a pain in the ass moving several pins, unless you do it for a living.

Cabin fever, yeah the snow sucks, the Hurricane sucked, plus the good guys I met in Allentown I will get to shoot the shit with them again. I can learn some new tricks, gets some parts, and try some games I never played before. I have some cash to spend on another EM and some of my glass is scratched and some of my legs are just okay, would like to upgrade a few classic wedgeheads. And I remember last year, the spreadsheat war, with the low activity maybe it would jumpstart RGP again.. :) The Spreadsheet was also good for guys wanting or offering trans, it's not just about stealing games from the free play area.

Honestly, if you're SO cheap that in lieu of paying $15 you're willing to load & setup a pinball machine you get what you deserve. Last year Ivan & co. brought a bunch of games for play. I know Ivan (not well but well enough) and I'm willing to bet he'd gladly pay anyone $15 to haul & setup a game for him!

If anyone wants to come to my house to load up one or more games, haul them to A-town & set them up to get free admission please contact me! :)

I started the one last year and respected Ivan's preference to not
have it show related. I can setup another one with no reference to
the show but we all know what it is for. Ivan et al put on an amazing
show last year and I would not want the spreadsheet to take away from
that.
