Crap! Why in the heck would you want to? Besides for the purpose
of making a real ass of yourself. Salmon should be poached in a highly
seasoned court bouillon, not in a dishwasher!

Besides that with the court bouillon it is easier to check for doneness,
not all fish cooks in the same amount of time and everyone's dishwasher
would be at a different temperature

The recipe would work and this has been talked about in earlier posts. I
just can't see the point, aside from a gimic, or gage.

You realize, of course, you are only perpetuating the image of webtv
users as clueless cretins by posting such a ludicrous message/recipe in
a serious cooking newsgroup.

Now Ranee, back to those shoes........

A-hehn!! =D

First, I agree that it is stupid to cook in a dishwasher.

Of course the smell would go away! The inside of the dishwasher is
all enamel or porcelian and stainless steel. It is designed for
people to store their dirty dishes in a moist enviroment to rot for a
few days before they run it. Your alleged "WebTVer" got screwed.
Probably all they had to do was clean the strainer in the bottom of
the dishwasher and then run it through another wash cycle with proper
detergent.

But it makes for a good urban legend.

I think the caveat is that your hot water should be 140deg F
or greater for this ( IIRC, YMMV )
