Gas prices on 17 July 2009, national average, from AAA: $2.48
Gas prices locally today at WaWa $2.11
According to AAA, for the average driver putting 13,000 miles a year on
a car getting 23 mpg, the savings is close to $1000 a year.
It pays to not have an "oil man" in the White House :>)
Good Lord...that's dirt cheap.
Went down to .96 per liter for self serve regular today.

Yeah - right. Fairy tales.
Thompson CITGO - $2.68 up 2 from this morning.
Putnam Gulf - $2.66 up 1 from this morning.
Putnam Sunoco - $2.69 up 2 from this morning.
Gas is going for 81 cents per liter....Canadian Tire was also offering
5 cents off THAT price....driving it down to 76 cents per liter.
Go argue with AAA.
$2.16 at local WaWa's now...

This is your problem Harry. I know that. I know what the national
average is. I'm pointing out that in CT, it doesn't go down - it goes
up. All the time. It could be selling for .50/gallon where you
live, we're still going to pay $2.68/gal because the state does not
want it to go lower than that and they'll push the gas tax as hard as
they can to make sure it doesn't.
Thus, it's a fairy tale.
Honest to pete - lighten up.

You mean that CT pays the highest gasoline taxes in the CONUS?
Tell me something I don't know.
I believe California's gasoline taxes are about the same or a little
higher. Your state's price per gallon would be about 20 cents higher
than it is here with your higher state tax.
Probably Cook County Illinois usually take the record for highest gas
prices in CONUS. Looks like you're doing worse at the moment though.
$2.61 is the lowest here, but it's $2.67 where I get it. Mobil.
Usually stick with Mobil or Shell.

According to that chart. you are only #4. Costco Livermore an hour ago was
$2.72 RUL. Saw $2.63 RUL in Oakdale Wednesday, $2.65 for Diesel.
$2.49 at the local stations here. But yesterday and I beleive today
crude prices went up, so in a week or so pump prices will elevate as
well.
