If not, the podium could become a really ugly place.

I would imagine emperical evidence for doping with viagra wouldn't be
"hard" to find....Oh, I kill me....
It would give new meaning to "standing up" on the podium...
Ok, I am done.
Cue Sundquist with a link.

There was no central thrust to your argument anyway.

Eddy Planckaert claimed he came in the Tour de Flandres (1988) just before
he beat Phil Anderson in the sprint. It proves that an orgasm helps to win,
so viagra - which is anyhow definitely performance enhancing - should be
banned.

Too much information.

Absolutely. How exciting was cycling in those days!

Hmm. Next they'll be banning certain chamois lubes.
"I saw to my surprise that Van der Poel cound't follow us at the Bosberg.
From that moment on Phil Anderson tried everything. He accelerated, he made
me several offers, he would have given his life if I would have let him win.
He really could't understand why I didn't accept. But I said to my
ex-teammate from Panasonic that we should go for it. He understood. The finl
was incredible. He kept on accelarating. And how! One time I thought: he is
gone. And that was the only time in my life that a passed the limits. When
you're completely worn out thinking you'll drop dead from fatigue, you reach
another dimension. Suddenly it seemed I was floating over the road. It's a
bit embarrasing to say it, but I came. And not a little bit. Hundred meters
later I was at Phil's wheel again. And I knew I would beat him. I had
reached a divine stage. I passed him 150 meters before the finishing
line...". Etc., etc.(From Ivan Heylen, "Het geslacht Planckaert", Leuven,
1989)

Of course.

hey, thanks, i didn't expect that there would be more.
so it seems he came just from being in an altered mental state due to
extreme physical effort.. i read a book where one of the main plot
points was the protagonist going into weird mental states and coming in
his pants. didn't know it had happened for real, and in bike racing no less.

Yes, instead of multiple pileups, they used to have multiple orgasms
instead.
