What does this mean? How much of a performance does $100 buy? About
everything on my frame has been replaced except the headset. It's a cheap but
works. I've replaced the bearings once in 4 years and cleaned about twice a
year for that long. It's probablly worth $10 dollars. I guess it's worth
every cent too, and then some.

i thought about that too until i replaced the headset on my Mongoose that i owned a couple of years ago.. the difference is that the new headset.. (which was an XTR), the material used transfers the small vibrations to be lost in the frame better..it makes a better ride quality..(that is my theory..i maybe wrong)

that is the feeling i got when i did the swap.. but it DOES make a difference..

oh BTW.. smameless plug time--->> ""Underworld Headsets""--->.forget ritchey and chris king..this headset is the king of headsets.. Machined in Montreal on Hotel de Ville st.. you got to try one ti believe.. i'll never go back
