The latest thing to fail on this trailer and now needs to be replaced
is the suspension.
Does anyone know where in the US that we can find replacement
parts for the suspension? Does anyone know of a damaged trailer
that someone might be willing to part out?
The glider survived with a few excessive rub marks in the gel
coat from the trailer, otherwise no damage has been located.
The trailers tires were a little over five years old and the trailer
is stored in a hangar when not in use.
Check your tires. 4 to 5 years seems to be the time limit on trailer
tires whether you have a lot of miles on them or just a few.
Thanks for your time!

I had a Komet trailer that was damaged in an accident some years ago
(actually a road rage incident in which the trailer was deliberately
rammed by an angry driver!). We switched out a few components for US
standard ones, including the axle, suspension and wheels. I also had
a ramp with heavy-duty scissor jack fabricated quite inexpensively by
a local welding shop. You might check out both local and imported
options.

Take a look at the following video to an enhanced option for a ramp/
jack replacement.

A little scouring of the internet or your local trailer manufacturers
will probably yield something you can modify to use as an axle.
Get rid of the Komet gear and put on a Torflex axle. If he really
likes the plane, get the rest of the electric brake setup that goes on
it too (all Torflex axles come with the brake flange on it), but this
is not necessary. This axle is like $160 and includes the
(independent) suspension which makes it drive reeeaal nice and they're
made to order, so of course it will fit perfect. I loved my Torflex
axle (previous trailer...)
