Joyce (Somes) Foley of Stoughton, formerly of Dedham, a former professional dancer
with a traveling water ballet group, died Monday at Brockton Hospital. She was 74.
Born in Boston, she was a longtime resident of Dedham before moving to Brockton
and later Stoughton. She was educated in Boston schools.
Mrs. Foley worked for the former Teledyne Phillbrick Electronics Co. in Dedham.
She also traveled as a professional dancer with the Walter Follies in 1951 as part of
a water ballet.
Active in church, she was a member of the Rainbow Girls, Girl Scouts and the
Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps. She enjoyed following Brigham Young University
football as well as the Red Sox and Patriots.
Wife of the late James M., Mrs. Foley is survived by two sons, James M. Jr. of
Hull and Kevin W. of Stoughton; a daughter, Joyce C. of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; 12
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today at The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, West Bridgewater.
