As suggested by Ben Schwarz, we will be having a Melbourne Hackfest to
coincide with the Rails Rumble. The official rumble starts at
Midnight Aug 22 utc (http://blog.railsrumble.com/rules), so we will be
starting here at 10am on Aug 22 here in Melbourne.

The details:

Saturday Aug 22 10am until ? (how much stamina do you have?)

Envato International Corporate Headquarters
Level 5, 140 Bourke St, Melbourne

Clinton: 0414 622 981 - cli...@envato.com

Don't feel that you have to work specifically on the Rails Rumble. I
personally will be hacking on my own little project.

Apart from the hacking we will hopefully have our pool-table set up by
then. We also have a few electric guitars, a bass and some amps for
annoying people who are trying to code. When people are tired coding
we can set up the projecter and watch a movie or two. Overall it
should be a fun and social weekend, not just a heads-down coding
session (although you are welcome to do that).

Numbers will be limited by how many chairs we have here at Envato,
which is about 20. Please let me know by e-mail that you are coming.

See-ya!

It doesn't get much better than code, pool and guitar (I'm assuming
beer is implicit). :)

Thanks for organising the venue, Clinton. I'll be there!

Sounds like fun, I'll be there until evening. There's a Protoculture gig
on that night, so need to head home and make myself beautiful! Or
something...

Just a reminder that this is only a mere week away. So start buttering
up your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/duck this weekend!
Enjoy the sunshine this weekend.

Are we able to show up on a random basis? I have some commitments on
Saturday, but I'd like to work on a pet project (integrating Renshi
with Sinatra) and, if time permits, I could come along. I might try
and email on the day or something.

No rules on when you arrive and when you leave. A few guys are only
going to be there for a few hours, so come along for whatever suits
your schedule. See you then!

I should be able to make it in the morning for a few hours.

Ah, enjoy. Another emergence of the flu has meant I'll probably miss
it (like I missed Eddy Current Suppression Ring last night).

Cheers,
Nicholas

Thank you for a great day hacking I had a ball.

When I got home I continued to hack after doing it for 12 hours :).

James & I created a movie selecting tool for groups who meet regularly and have to select a film to watch.  It allows users to add a movie to be voted on and vote on 3 movies to be watched that week/fortnight.

You can find it on James's github http://github.com/jamesd741/Movie-Night/tree/master

Thanks to all those that came along to the hackfest. I had a great
time and got a bit of coding done as well.

To those of you who didn't come, you sure missed a lot of ordinary
guitar playing. Maybe next time. I'm hoping that we can make the
hackfest a semi-regular event.

'twas there, and I can attest to the <del>guitar playing</del> great
day.

Thanks for opening up the envato office guys!

Seconded, if it ends up being a semi-regular event that would be
really great. The Envato offices are awesome.

Thanks again all!

+1 to this. Had a great productive day of hax, guitar, pool and chocolate.

Many thanks to the Envato guys.
