Following on from the discussion in the support groups, I've created a new test wiki at:

that's password protected to stop prying eyes and google.

Junk1 was saying he'd like a test install to play with the templates, and I think it's a good idea.
It also means we could have the chance to play about with the mediawiki default skin, which I think is way too bloated and bulky.

One last thing that I thought about when I looked at changing the skin; I feel the current images on the wiki are too big. I've altered the image on the page http://qsapp.com/wiki/What_Is_Quicksilver%3F to make it smaller and thinks this looks nicer. What's everyone's thoughts?

I feel that with images:
a) They should be smaller (e.g. 200px-300px width)
b) They should all be using the same Purple Bezel UI

If you want the username/password for the testwiki then just email me/post here and I'll send it out

There's an nicer wiki skin at http://qsapp.com/wiki/Special:Preferences
and in Appearance choose Vector.
Example: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/157506/Wiki%20theme.png

Agreed. Scaling interface window shots to 75% jpg makes the image ~20
kb. Although some images such as Preferences need to be big to be read
properly. Perhaps links to separate image pages so only people who
need to see them use the bandwidth.

I was able to edit the new wiki with just my standard account.

Definitely nicer and a good start. I still think the skin should be more minimal.

I think 75% is about right. I wouldn't worry too much about bandwidth if its necessary to use it though.
I'll just have to bite the bullet and upgrade when need be/ask for donations to keep the site going/share bandwidth with someone else with a hosting package

Sorry the .htpasswd wasn't set up properly. It is now

I've updated the Plugins Template page:
http://qsapp.com/wiki/Plugins_Template

Placeholders are in Caps.

Put in most of Howard's recommendations in the Opera Module:
http://qsapp.com/wiki/Opera_Module

Looks nice.
I've had a look at the wikitable class business, and I can't see any differences between your tables and using just the wikitable class, except for the padding (which can easily be changed with some CSS)
What exactly was the problem with wikitable?

The bulleted lines in the title rows got centred (so not to the right
of the preceding item), and the default format is bold, which would
clash with the 'check the items in bold' instruction.

Really?

I've changed it for the opera module: http://qsapp.com/wiki/Opera_Module

Looks exaclty the same for me. Bold fonts, bullet points. Everything

Cool, I was obviously doing it wrong. Any chance to put the padding
back? The text is kind of squashed.

Yep. I've stuck in 0.4em of padding in the sides now. It's still less than it was before, but I think it's better with less padding. Do you reckon it's OK now?

I think the new table is a big improvement.
