Hi Joana:

I've tried to use the download links from the wiki [1], but they don't
seem to work. This is what I get:

<Error><Code>PermanentRedirect</Code><Message>The bucket you are
attempting to access must be addressed using the specified endpoint.
Please send all future requests to this
endpoint.</Message><RequestId>957D401840DE1A0E</RequestId><Bucket>qubes-os</Bucket><HostId>+snht6dHBWqo/wLow9vQoOL238Ton1Hziiz4gBK5jB43l10vp3XSCfU8jyLoz+Qy</HostId><Endpoint>qubes-os.s3.amazonaws.com</Endpoint></Error>

Strange, it seems to work fine for me. Which specific link you try to
download?

I tried these two:

http://qubes-os.s3.amazonaws.com/iso/Qubes-R1-rc1-x86_64-DVD.iso
http://qubes-os.s3.amazonaws.com/iso/Qubes-R1-rc1-x86_64-DVD.iso?torrent

I'm downloading it from Madrid, Spain.

I met it on Firefox 14.0.1 (Linux).
Download(s) can be done by Chromium (same PC).

But, there is other problem.
I cannot verify .iso by gpg.

$ gpg --verify Qubes-R1-rc1-x86_64-DVD.iso.asc
gpg: Signature made Sat Jul 21 07:05:31 2012 JST
gpg: using RSA key 0xEA01201B211093A7
gpg: Can't check signature: public key not found

I cannot find key 0xEA01201B211093A7 in follows;
pgp.mit.edu,
qubes-developers-keys.asc,
qubes-master-signing-key.asc,
qubes-release-1-signing-key.asc.

Hi:

A friend of mine who lives in another part of Spain (Cordoba) could
download the torrent, so now I'm downloading the ISO via bit torrent.
I will check the signature when the download is finished =)

No freeying jet, so I'm hoping the best :)

But I had sume issues:

with the shipped grub.conf my systen not booting at al, the chages what I was need to do:

- kernel /xen.gz console=com1
+ kernel /xen.gz

Another issu when I'm tryinbg to update the template vm the update ends up wit this:

Transaction Check Error:
installing package kernel-debug-3.4.6-2.fc17.x86_64 needs 99MB on the /usr/lib/modules filesystem

Error Summary
-------------
Disk Requirements:
At least 99MB more space needed on the /usr/lib/modules filesystem.

And here is the reason:

/dev/xvdd           194M  131M   53M  72% /usr/lib/modules

But not sure how to correct this...

Ah, you are trying xen-4.2 (aka "unstable"), right? This option is accepted by
xen-4.1 (isn't valid, but doesn't break boot and have intentional effect -
hide xen output during boot).

Remove kernel-debug package... Above mentioned version doesn't match qubes
kernel anyway. If it doesn't help, you can additionally mask it in
/etc/yum.conf (exclude option, there should be kernel on the list already).

Oh, no sorry it was just a typo.

I'm using the shipped 4.1.2 xen.... which caused some freeze for me in
beta3 - but now it seems to be workoing fine.

I'will try to put it back to see if its really breaking the boot for me...

Ok, I will do it. And yes I know it is useless for the AppVM-s, but it
is in the shipped template, and should be corrected for the final
release...

I can confirm:

This parameter is definietly blocking the boot process. - at least on
my machine.
I get only a blinkink cursor instead of booting.

The exclude is the way to solve - beause remove will break a lot of
package dependecies.

Instead? The intended result is to not show xen boot messages, so you should
see only blinking cursor as long as plymouth in dom0 don't show splash screen.
In our tests, rc1 booted fine right after installation... Anyone else have
this problem?

Yeah. I waited ~5mins or so... but nothing just a blinking cursor.
And I also had to hard reset the machihe to reboot again...

If I remove this parameter 1-2 sec and plymouth take over the display
and booting as expected...

You can try this URL:

https://qubes-os.s3.amazonaws.com/iso/Qubes-R1-rc1-x86_64-DVD.iso

(or even http - should be faster)

I've also seen this issue using wget with original URL, the alternative url
(above) works without error.

Strange, perhaps it is caused by some hardware difference (ex number of serial
ports). Anyway fixed in our repo, will be in the final release.

Sorry, it was my mistake.

I downloaded these key files, but tryed to import from old files. Key
which has ID 0xEA01201B211093A7 is found in new
qubes-release-1-signing-key.asc file.

And, no trouble in verification.
