I want an updated, non-abandonware Quicksilver. I'm perfectly willing
to pay for it, too.
Quicksilver really changed the way I use my Mac. Then, for whatever
reasons, you decided to go and do other things.
That's your right, but IMHO it's grossly irresponsible to create
something like Quicksilver, which fundamentally alters the paradigm of
how one uses his computer, and then just walk away from it. I would
be willing to *pay* for a commercial version of Quicksilver, as would
many, many Mac users, but I wasn't given that option.
So, I'm in the peculiar position of being grateful for a fabulous
piece of open-source software, while at the same time feeling bitter
and, to be honest with you, quite angry at the callous disregard you
showed for your user base by just walking away from Quicksilver
without ensuring it remained on a firm footing, or for being open and
transparent about your plans for the future in this regard. At the
very least, you should've explored the possibility of a commercial
release of Quicksilver; even if you decided against doing so, you
should've been honest and open and communicative with your user base,
which you signally failed to do. Extremely unprofessional.
So, thanks for Quicksilver, and no thanks for abandoning it and
leaving your user-base in the lurch. Please don't play the 'what
features do you want?' game, just re-implement Quicksilver in a
maintained/maintainable new form.
