For anyone who is interested, I've created a fork of Tornado that
allows Tornado to run under Windows. I have tested this using the
chat demo under Windows XP SP3 and also using a personal project. The
fork is located at:
http://github.com/mgenti/tornado

I've also submitted a pull request in hopes that the main developers
will accept my changes and incorporate them into the next version. As
a note to the developers, the pull request does not include one other
change covered under issue http://github.com/facebook/tornado/issues#issue/29
but is included in my fork.

Good stuff... I don't have a dev env set up for windows + python, but I might try over the next couple of days and let you know how it goes.

Thanks for your work. I prefer develop under windows and deploy to
linux. Any plans to implement this feature in upstream?

I've submitted my changes to the developers but have not heard
anything from them.
