new higher price for balloon mapping kit, and explanation

Hello all - 

Today we increased the price for balloon mapping kits from $85 to $115, and I wanted to explain why. Factoring in all the time PLOTS staff members (esp. Mathew and Stewart) have spent, we were not making enough margin to keep going at the original price. We've sold almost 400 kits now at $85 each (the next shipment is being assembled and should ship by the end of tomorrow) and after doing all the math, this is a more sustainable price. We'll also be doing our best as time goes on to get better discounts on our bulk materials orders, and will pass those savings on as we get them.

If you cannot pay the higher price, we have discount codes on a need basis -- please just get in touch with ret...@publiclaboratory.org!
