province) are you seeing this from?

Could you please confirm this by running the commands shown at:
http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using.html#troubleshooting
for both 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4? For example, if you're using Windows,
you might run:
tracert -d 8.8.8.8
nslookup -debug www.eecs.mit.edu 8.8.8.8

Google Public DNS also has two IPv6 addresses:
2001:4860:4860::8888
2001:4860:4860::8844
Do they work better for you?
