Hello,

It's been a while since I announced here that I want to include prosody
in Fedora's repositores (two years...).

Well, the review request has been accepted these week, and prosody
should be available in Fedora (16, 17 and devel) repositories in the
next weeks; I will also maintain it for RHEL 6 on EPEL repository
(compatible with CentosOS, ScientificLinux and other RHEL derivates).

I hope that will be a good news for all Fedora and RHEL users who loves
prosody ;)

Thanks for your nice job,
Regards,

Excellent news! Thanks Johan, Matěj, Jan, and everyone who has been
working hard for this :)

Let me know when I can update http://prosody.im/download with
installation instructions, and what with, and I shall.

Matthew

I'm still not seeing prosody in the Fedora development or testing
repos. Can you post a SRPM or a SPEC file?

Indeed, I'm still waiting for the latest required package (lua-dbi) to
be reviewed before I can put prosody on the repositories
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=707016).

All (S)RPMS are actually available on my own repository
http://rpms.ulysses.fr/ ; you can find the lastest specfile on my hg
repository: https://bitbucket.org/trashy/rpm/src/tip/prosody/prosody.spec.

Review has been done yesterday; and I've just requested the push in
testing repos for Prosody and lua-dbi; for Fedora 16, 17 and EL-6.

Packages are waiting to be signed (this is a manual process), and then
will reach updates-testing repositories.

It will be pushed to stable repositories after one or two weeks; I'll
inform the list once done so Matthew can update the downloads page :)

Those RPMs and the specfile will be deleted from that repository soon.

Hello,
I've just pushed prosody in stable repositories for EL-6, it has been in
Fedora for about a week :)

Installations instructions are simple for Fedora >= 16: as root, just
run "yum install prosody".

On RHEL 6 and derivates, EPEL repostory must be installed before using
that yum command.
Informations and installation instructions for EPEL repository:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL

Just ask if you have questions :)

Thanks! I've now added a section for Fedora to the downloads page
based on your instructions: http://prosody.im/download/start#fedora

Let me know if there's anything I can add/improve there.

Matthew
