Loading screen moves up for a moment

When starting the app, the loading screen moves up a little. It
appears to be the height of the status bar (where network and connect
ATT is on phone). When it moves up you can see the HTML page in the
background as its loading its content. Anyone else getting this?

This is a bug in PhoneGap, which I managed to track down and solve. See

For the short and curlys of this problem from Basil's post above ...

In order to fix it, I simply added the following line in
PhoneGapDelegate.m
before line 188 (where it sets imageView.tag = 1):
imageView.frame = [[UIScreen mainScreen] applicationFrame];
