steals bikes so that he can return them to their rightful owners and in
the meantime plug for his son. Clever. If his son is half as sharp as
his father is, he's got my vote. :-)

I missed the original of Anthony Kim's posting which I tentatively
will treat as being tongue in cheek and not the scurilous libel it can
be taken as. Mr. Kim appends a smiley but nevertheless ought to be a
bit more careful. I myself am a lawyer albeit a "recovering" lawyer.

The background is that last week my neighbor found a rather expensive
bike which had been ditched at our condo building. One would guess it
had been stolen. While waitng for the police to pick it up, I thought
I would do what I could to locate the owner. I posted the information
in this group and sent the serial number to the manufacturer in case
the bike had been registered. No luck. The police picked it up
yesterday.

My son enters into it because my signature, as you will see, refers to
his candidacy for the Portland City Council.

All will be forgiven, Mr. Kim, if you do vote for Erik. You can be
assured he is much more than half as clever as me.

Erik G. Sten, not the Portland (OR) City Counsel candidate,
Erik K. Sten, but merely his proud father. Please do not ascribe
my views to our next great City Commissioner.
