ignore rules for specific log file

Dear All,

   How can I ignore a rule for log file : /var/log/vsftpd.log only ?

    I have read http://www.ossec.net/wiki/index.php/Know_How:Ignore_Rules but it do not help.

Hi Ceg,

Yes, you can certainly do that by using the <hostname> tag. For example:

<hostname>vsftpd.log</hostname>

*the hostname option includes the agent name + agent ip + log file.

If you don’t want to read the file, you can take it out of the config. If you are receiving some event based on that log file, we can help you write an ignore rule if you can send us the details of the event that concerns you. We have to look at the rule ID, and why you want to ignore it, and select some keywords to build the ignore rule.
