Hello,

since the last update on 14.05.2013 Google Play tells me that Osmand, Osmand+ and the official plugins are no longer compatible with my Acer Iconia tab A510 (Android 4.1.2).

I´m sooo disapointed! First I read about the upcoming new Holo interface and got really excited, and then this. Victor, you broke my heart!

Kind regards with tears in my eyes
Wolfgang

That's not me :) I didn't do anything with devices list.
As developer I see AcerA510– picasso_m - supported!

I actually suspect Google Play update, hope they will fix it. Or you can update Google Play.

Victor

Same applies to Samsung Galaxy Notes 10.1 N8000 with Android 4.1.2., Google Play mentions "incompatible".

Hello Victor,

the Google Play´s version of my device is 4.0.27. So I don´t think there is something to update.

So, according to Paul Andrej Zimmermann and me, Osmand(+) is no longer available from Google Play for at least

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
Acer Iconia A510 (which has also a 10.1 inch display)

Have a nice weekend
Wolfgang

Dear all,

maybe it is possible to bypass Google Play since it malfunctions and install the osmand+ apk manually?
Someone with successful experince with this? At least we can give it a try and need from Victor the apk file then.

I had the same problem with my Samsung 7.7 running 4.0.4

So I copied across the apk and clicked on it with my file reader/
browser.

This works with the free version of Osmand. But what to do with the paid one?

Issue seems to be solved as of version 1.3 of Osmand(+). I can update Osmand or buy the plus version in Google Play again.

Thanks, Victor! And don´t dare do that again! ;)

I can confirm that.
From yesterday evening to today OsmAnd compatibility changed from "not compatible" to "compatible" with the Acer Iconia A510.
The same is valid for the Parking plugin.

The OsmAnd Contour lines plugin is still shown as "not compatible", but that may be a matter of time, now.

I've been using Osmand+ (paid version with contour plugin) for about a year,on a Galaxy Tab (original, wifi only P-1010) and just noticed that Google Play has me "stuck" at.1.2.1 beta. I haven't been following this group closely, but I went to the market and saw that official release is 1.3.1.  However, market says it is "incompatible with your device".  Same for free version.  I listed myself as a beta tester to see if that would allow download, but that did not help.

Question: Is it really incomapatible, or is Google messed up?
If it isn't incompatible, is there an apk I can download to update my paid version without totally breaking the links to the market so that when Google gets it together I'll still be a subscriber?

Thanks

Victor,
Thanks for the response.

I was pretty certain that that was the case, but, apparently google thinks they know better.  My real question is where and which apk can I download to update my paid version of Osmand+ ?

Thanks

You can try http://download.osmand.net/latest-night-build/ (pay attention if you get notifications about updates via googleplay when installing an apk manually!)

Stephan,

Thanks.  I downloaded the app, planning to install the app the next day. But ... google decided overnight that maybe my tablet was compatible with Osmand and 27 other apps.  Yes, 28 updates came flying thru the air.

If it is any help to anyone in the future, I did come across a fix that works for some devices. An app called "Market Helper", obviously not available from play.google.  Just search for it.  It allows one to temporarily change the model of their phone/tablet.  It didn't work for me, but there are many reports of it working for newer models.

Just thought I'd pass on this possible "fix" for google's problems.

Thanks again

I would recommend using FDroid, it isn't as bloated as Android Market, and seems to have better apps. Unfortunately ( in the case of Osmand at least) their repository is a bit out of date. I usually get a new build from http://download.osmand.net/latest-night-build/.

Please note that OsmAnd is also available on the Amazon market now, download links are on osmand.net under "Download / First Steps". Maybe this is more convenient in some cases.
