Hello. It is possible to improve cursor animation(position update) when navigating at high speed? (like at other navigation software - Primo, Navigon...) Now the update position of the cursor is very slow - at about 1 time per seccond , and at high speed we can miss some streets because cursor will update position after  too many meters from last position.

Can you explain what your use case is?

1/second is about 14m for 50mk/h in cities. I guess where streets are realy narrow and closet together  (medieval city centers?), you would not even drive that fast. GPS accuracy is mostly not much better anyway with many buldings around, you may likley not even gain anything. And at much higher speeds on highways the exits are much further apart, anyway.

I am not sure, but guess that higher data rates on your GPS readings (you can increase to 3/second or higher) as well as processing them cost you battery power, hence I would like to make sure there is a use case really worth it ...

Hi,

I recently checked it and indeed it is the highest possible rate on device. I guess Navigon and others do position interpolation, which probably not a bad idea in combination with interpolation in tunnels etc..

I also believe it should be changeable in the Settings if you want to see raw updates.

I have tried to time it today and think on my test device OsmAnd updates my position more like 2-3 times per second, not 1 just  as I wrote above. For me this is quite sufficient!

I know that many GPS apps accessing the chipset directly to extract NMEA logs can be configured to specific rates.

But on all my trips with Osnand, I never noticed I would like position updates any more frequent than they are. Is this maybe device dependent, so some people may have issues with it?
