Any ideas why lineString draws differently depends on base map projection -

Hi,

My line string coordinates in EPSG:4326 (-118.40716 33.94252, -180.0, 25.19290) and (180.0 25.19290, 100.60556 13.91444).  I would expect the line to draw west from (-118.40716 33.94252) to (-180.0, 25.19290), then continue at the other edge and draws from (180.0 25.19290) to (100.60556 13.91444))

If my base layer is of EPSG:4326, then it works as my expectation.  However, if I use OSM (EPSG:900913) as my base map layer, the line is drawn toward East, then wrapped at the the edge.  Why would EPSG:900913 behave like this?
