I'm a cofounder at Quantcast. I'm just dropping in a note to check
what we can do to help OpenLike.
As a stable independent party, we might be a candidate to operate the
realtime parts of the service. We could provide high service quality
at reasonable incremental cost to us. We handle 150,000 requests a
second with 99.995% uptime and very low latency through our 14 data
centers around the world, plus we use CDNs in countries like South
Africa where our own locations are distant. We're pretty serious about
reliability - we failover whole datacenters in 6 seconds. On the back
end, we sort over 500TB per day, so we could slice and dice the data
if needed before distribution.
I imagine we would deposit the OpenLike logs for public use, perhaps
on S3.
Just a thought. We're open to other ways we might help OpenLike, so
feel free to brainstorm.
