using Drew's upload_fw I put together kinect-audio-setup[1], a
collection of tools to have audio input from Kinect using the Usb Audio
Class interface.
I am going to tag version 0.1 and start packaging it for Debian[2], but
since the power supply adapter of my Kinect is broken I cannot do a
final test to see if kinect_upload_fw runs fine on big-endian systems as
well as little-endian ones.
So if anyone has a big-endian box, linux and a Kinect, could you please
get in touch with me?
I asked debian-legal if there could be problems about using the word
"kinect" in the project name, and they said that should not be any[3].
Thanks,
Antonio

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.

Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?

OK, I got a new Kinect and I was finally able to test kinect_upload_fw
on PS3.
A Debian package for x86_64 is available, it should work with
Ubuntu as well:
http://ao2.it/debian/kinect-audio-setup_0.1-1_amd64.deb
Pulseaudio >= 1.0 is needed to have it all working out of the box.
I am now looking into inclusion in the official Debian archive.
