Advisers
On Vaccines Often Have Conflicts, Report Says
A
new report finds that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
did a poor job of screening medical experts for financial conflicts
when it hired them to advise the agency on vaccine safety, officials
said. Most of the experts who served on advisory panels in 2007 to
evaluate vaccines for flu and cervical cancer had potential conflicts
that were never resolved. Some were legally barred from considering
the issues but did so anyway. As numerous medicines have been pulled
from the market in recent years, worries have grown that experts may
be recommending medical products — even ones they know to be
unsafe — in part because manufacturers are paying them.

Swine Flu Drug Dealer Chief Quits As 'Pandemic' Con Unravels
UK Chief Drug Dealer Sir Liam Donaldson quits after wrecking British economy over Swine Flu
(Caption & Pic Courtesy Of One Click)
The Jobbing Doctor remains unconvinced that Chief Medical Officer Sir Liam Donaldson's assessment of swine ‘flu’ was ever close to the truth. His baleful and unwise prognostications played into the hands of the media, resulting in panicky headlines about 65,000 deaths. This was a bad error. He has been CMO at a time that more resources have been pushed into health care, and yet his voice is strangely silent when you consider the whole range of useless, expensive and divisive changes introduced by a series of politicians. Donaldson has merely been a tool of the British Government. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Sir Liam.

Addresses Global Swine Flu Scam
MOSCOW
- Tom Jefferson, a scientist currently based in Rome, said World
Health Organisation expert committees have "people with
extensive ties to the industry or decision-makers who have explicitly
kept on producing apocalyptic forecasts year in, year out."
Another disturbing fact, he said, was "the absence (with a few
exceptions) of disclosure of competing interests during committee
meetings" and in addition to that, there was a mysterious "swine
flu committee of 12 who apparently advises the WHO Director General."
Jefferson also pointed to the low quality of the science base in WHO
documents and selective use of evidence to make decisions, as well as
the WHO's "obsession with pharmacological intervention (vaccines
and antivirals). It would appear that WHO has very close links to the
pharmaceutical industry." He said he and his colleagues recently
demonstrated that influenza vaccines "have risen to scientific
prominence pr obably because of the hunger of scientific journals for
pharmaceutical sponsorship."

Germany
And Spain Demand Deadly H1N1 Vaccine Mass Refund
LONDON - Germany and Spain want to reduce deliveries of swine flu vaccine and potentially return excess supplies to manufacturers, due to low uptake of the shots, in a move that could hit drugmakers' profits. Germany's health ministry said on Thursday some German states had been in talks with Britain's GlaxoSmithKline about reducing deliveries of H1N1 vaccine, but the talks had as yet yielded no results. Spain's health minister Trinidad Jimenez said her country was "speaking with the pharmaceutical companies" about returning unused vaccine, according to a report on the specialist news service APM Health Europe. Officials at the drug companies had no immediate comments on the German and Spanish government moves.

GlaxoSmithKline
Has To Pay $1 Billion In Paxil Suits
GlaxoSmithKline Plc has paid almost $1 billion to resolve lawsuits over Paxil since it introduced the antidepressant in 1993, including about $390 million for suicides or attempted suicides said to be linked to the drug, according to court records and people familiar with the cases. As part of the total, Glaxo, the U.K.’s largest drugmaker, so far has paid $200 million to settle Paxil addiction and birth-defect cases and $400 million to end antitrust, fraud and design claims, according to the people and court records. “A liability totalling $1.5 billion is possible,” Savvas Neophytou, a Panmure Gordon analyst in London, wrote in a note to investors the day after the Kilker verdict.

Vaccine
Against Swine Flu: A Cure Or An Injection Of Death!
Algiers - According to sources of Ennahar, analysis and testing of the vaccine have confirmed that this vaccine has already killed dozens of people in Mexico and Canada because of the preservatives it contains. In Algeria, the testing made at the laboratory of control “Pasteur Institute” led to the death of laboratory rats. World Health Organization (WHO) has reported the registration of cases of acute allergy in Canada and Mexico after the vaccination of people with the vaccine produced by the British laboratory GSK.

Public Response To H1N1 Vaccination Drive Negative
ABHA/JEDDAH:
The public response to the immunization campaign against swine flu
launched on Saturday was negative or lukewarm at the best, according
to an official at the Health Affairs Department in Jeddah. Parents
seem to doubt the efficacy of the vaccine and are under the
impression that the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education
are unsure how safe it is, said a school principal in Abha. “Why
is there a clause in the consent form saying the Ministry of Health
or Ministry of Education are not responsible in the event of a
serious complication or death occurring after taking the vaccine,”
said Yahya Subhan, a school principal in Asir.

Tamiflu?
More Like Scamiflu
WASHINGTON
- Tamiflu, the anti-flu drug being snapped up in record amounts, does
not prevent serious complications from the flu and should not be used
for routine control of the flu in healthy adults, Public Citizen said
today. In an article sent this week to online subscribers of
www.WorstPills.org, Public
Citizen called for an independent review of raw data from clinical
trials funded by Tamiflu’s maker, Roche. The company has
claimed that the drug dramatically reduced hospital admissions as
well as bronchitis and pneumonia. But a recent investigation by the
British Medical Journal and British TV Channel 4 concluded that such
claims were meritless.
