Health Minister accused of swine flu ‘overreaction’

Stormont's Health Minister has been accused of overreacting to the swine flu scare after it emerged that a further £16m of emergency funding has gone unspent. Finance Minister Sammy Wilson said his executive colleague Michael McGimpsey should have scrutinised scientists' advice about the pandemic alert more rigorously before asking for the money from Government coffers. The DUP representative said some elements of the scientific community had their own agenda for over-stating the scale of certain crises. “Ministers when they are faced with a crisis should scrutinise any advice they are given as rigorously as possible to make sure that they are not overreacting,” he said.

Over 50% Of Parents Querying Vaccine Safety

About half of the parents responding to a national survey say they are concerned about adverse effects of vaccines and one in four believe some vaccines cause autism, according to a paper published today by the journal Pediatrics. The survey was conducted *before* the H1N1 epidemic. The survey results demonstrate that parents' questioning of vaccines varies by gender, ethnicity and also by which vaccine is under discussion.

Vaccines To Be Jabbed Into UK Doctors By General Medical Council Order

Doctors on the NHS front line who refuse vaccinations against common infections risk losing their right to practise under a new appraisal system issued by the General Medical Council. Annual assessments being introduced next year to maintain standards of medical competency will include whether doctors are immunised against common serious communicable diseases. This would include infections such as tuberculosis, hepatitis B and rubella but also could include seasonal flu. In the 2008-09 winter flu season, fewer than one in seven frontline NHS staff had a flu jab. One Click Note: During the Swine Flu Hoax, British doctors were bribed millions of pounds by the government to vaccinate patients against this mild illness whilst they wisely refused the vaccine for themselves and their families. If the risible GMC force compulsory vaccination on doctors, many will vote with their feet and leave the profession. This GMC plan will be the most resounding no confidence vot e in vaccines ever delivered by the medical profession.
