All,

I am looking at enabling the Bosch accelerometer sensor on Zoom2. This can also be extended to include other sensors for OMAP.

I have registered a new project “Sensors for OMAP” in OMAPZoom.org and maintaining the project page in Wiki http://omappedia.org/wiki/Sensors_for_OMAP

I have added some references on a similar work done with an external accelerometer there. I would like to collaborate with the community on this development. If you have interests or knowledge on this domain, please feel free to add to this project.

As I learn more, I’ll come back with any questions I have and also keep my Wiki page updated.

Thanks

Geetha

Hello,

I found an open source project which utilize the Bosch BMA150.
http://dev.odroid.com/projects/odroid/wiki/HardwareInformation

BMA150 device driver source code can be found in here.
http://dev.odroid.com/projects/linux/src/drivers/input/misc

This handheld device was introduced couple of weeks ago by
LinuxDevices.com
http://www.linuxfordevices.com/c/a/News/HardKernel-Odroid/

If you look at the 3D game demo video in above article, you can
understand that device(Odroid) already utilize the accelerometer very
well.
Right?

Hi Freeware3430,
Thanks for the references. I have started looking into the schematics and code. Please let me know if you have any pointers on how this can be tested, may be with Busybox.

Thanks

As I know, there is no way to access the accelerometer values in the
command line (busybox shell).
You need to make a simple Android java application with the Android
sensor API.

I hope you can find some examples in Google.

Senthil,
You can find details on Sensors and B<A150 in http://omappedia.org/wiki/Sensors_for_OMAP#Accelerometers_on_OMAP_Zoom2

Please email the OMAPZoom mailing list for questions so that other users could also help.

Thanks
Geetha

Hi,

I am developing BMA150 driver and sensor HAL layer on OMAP zoom2
hardware. Please let me if this driver is available. If you have done,
could you please guide me to develop the BMA150 HAL driver.

Thanks
Senthil
