Vodafone Wireless Alternatives, land-line unavailable

Hello,

I have vodafone wireless home phone and internet. The internet won't
even connect and the home phone reception is so bad that I cannot hear
what the operators say, and from what I gather they can't hear me. I
have the same problems when calling customers so have resorted to
using my mobile to call clients.

Does anybody know of an alternative?
The only alternative to the vodem stick that I know of is the t-stick,
does anybody know of other alternatives or any wireless home phone
connections?

It may just be me but their customer service is appalling lately.
I believe my connection cancellation request was processed late last
month when they said one of their team members would call me about
'alternative services' and that the cancellation fee would definitely
be wiped. I contacted them today after waiting three weeks for a call
but all I really heard was them asking for my phone number and pin
(funny that, I was calling from the phone and had to enter the pin
prior to talking to an operator!!) then some form of rights I had and
cancellation fees of which I only received small snippets of their
voice.

From what I can tell the cancellation of my wireless internet is going
to cost money ($600??) despite my inability to connect to the internet
while a previous operator had assured me the connection would work at
my new property.

I have also been told that my phone will cost $80 to cancel despite
the fact that the first two times I called them the call dropped and
they didn't bother to call me back (even genesis energy and xnet call
back if a phone call drops), the third time I had to call from a
friends land-line, the last two weeks I couldn't even connect on
several occasions to call them, and the final time neither of us could
understand each-other.

I'm on Woosh Wireless for internet access (I have Vodaphone mobile for calls)

And a few times, it is dead-slow / Snails paced - but usually its 2-3
ytimes faster than 56KB..

the only issue I have with land-line, is i'll have to pay $80+ to get
a phoneline and internet (56KB) - I currently pay $40 aprox for
internet...

I have Woosh wireless internet and phone. Both work great. No latency on
the phone whatsoever. Typical download speed is 1Mbps. That inspite of
the fact that my house is officially outside the coverage zone, due to
being in a slight dip.

You should try relocating your booster antenna Gordon.

I am hesitant to recommend Telecom XT, because if it's recent history. But... someone I know in a semi-rural area has fallen within the coverage of XT (telecom's previous cellphone network was not 3G where he is) and reports it to be extremely good - better than the satellite connection he had before. We chatted on skype via XT for about half an hour and it was great - no latency problems or cutting out.

Telecom's teething troubles with it's network are probably over now.

Thanks for the recommendations Gordon, Todd, and Rimu.
Woosh sounds great and so does XT.
Unfortunately Woosh is unavailable in my area so I may try out telecom
on a 30 day risk free plan for mobile which will also provide me with
a general idea of their 3g stick performance in my area.
It is a shame 2degrees' reception appears iffy in my area, might have
to buy a cheap sim and see how it goes.
