Hi, guys!

Is NHContrib still being maintained by someone? If so, where is the official repository?

Thanks,

RP

Probably it is dead.

There is a unofficial GitHub fork and I tried to get some developers to https://github.com/orgs/NHibernate-Contrib. Unfortunately there was no big success and alone I can't get this done.

I was kinda maintaining the caches unofficially at https://github.com/diegose/NHibernate.Diegose/tree/master/Caches. Not really doing anything with it ATM.

It's really a pity, isn't it? Why don't we create an official location for it and start bringing it back into the light, so that hopefully someone will want to pick it up?

Yes, this keeps popping up, and nothing ever happens. I think that between the 4-5 of us, we should be able to maintain it just fine. Let's have a meeting. Google Hangouts, IRC, Jabbr, Skype?

Guys,

I'm not really an "NHibernate developer", just submitted a couple of pull requests, but I would like to help on this. If I can be of service, let me know. You can find me as rjperes at gmail or hotmail.

Hi,

Any news on this?
I really think, at least, Validator and Caches should be maintained.

NHibernate Envers was (for a short while) part of NHContrib. It’s now available here; https://bitbucket.org/RogerKratz/nhibernate.envers.

NHibernate.Spatial was mentioned on this list just a few days ago. https://github.com/suryapratap/Nhibernate.Spatial

Other projects, I don’t know. Maybe you can set up some forks of the projects you are interested in?

The original, long-term plan for NHContrib had been similar to other "contrib" scenarios: it was to be an "incubator" of sorts for projects without sufficient adoption/community support and "buy-in" (yet) where work could proceed on them in parallel with periodic (re)evaluation of them as candidates for inclusion in the "main" project effort (not necessarily meaning in the NHibernate sln itself, but released/updated on the same cadence and always kept 100& in sync with dependencies on the latest NHibernate binaries).

Its perhaps time to do another (re)evaluation of the NHContrib projects to see if there are candidates for becoming non-Contrib and moving into a formal supported mode.

Caches and Validator would probably be good targets for such evaluation here, given their adoption/usage and their functionality being (fairly) central to some of the NHibernate value-prop in actual practice.

What do others think?

Hi Guys,

I want to merge NHibernate-Contrib and NHibernate organizations on GitHub. I think it will push nh-contrib project a little bit.

Any objections?

Best Regards,
Alexander

No issues, seems entirely reasonable to me.  So long as the NH repo remains separate from any of the NH-contrib repos, merging the orgs on github can only serve to benefit everyone IMO.

Hi,

I think these projects are still alive, and are worth keeping (I know Envers is being well treated, I just list it here for reference!):

NHibernate Envers (maintained by Roger):

Source Code: https://bitbucket.org/RogerKratz/nhibernate.envers

NHibernate Search (maintained by who?):

Source Code: https://github.com/nhibernate/NHibernate-Search

NHibernate Validator (maintained by Dario?):

Source Code: https://github.com/darioquintana/NHibernate-Validator

NHibernate Shards (maintained by Dario?):

Source Code: https://github.com/darioquintana/NHibernate-Shards

All recent work on NHibernate Shards has been done by me, Dario's repository is currently authoritative.

Cheers,
Gerke.
