Y&R Update 10/17/85

one up in so long but I've been feeling poorly.
Jill was approached by Michael Crawford, attorney (who was sent
by Katherine Chancellor to ruin her settlement with John). He told her
of the plan to hurt her and she hired him anyway. She is still trying
to get into Brad's pants (or any other young guy she meets).
Lauren has finally learned the truth about Shawn Garrett!!!!!!!!
Lauren accidentally found her way into Shawn's apartment while he was out
and discovered his radio (for the bug in her apartment). He walked in on
her and showed her a radio transmitter which, when he activates it, signals
a henchman of his to do something planned to Paul. The first time he threw
a brick through Paul's office window. Shawn told Lauren that if she tells
Paul anything or tries to warn him or do anything to defy him (Shawn) that
Paul might get very hurt. He told her that she would ANYTHING that Shawn
told her to. In a fit of desperation Lauren tore up the apartment
and found his bug and disposed of it. This may spell trouble for Paul.
Victor found the chemist that helped Jack with the stolen perfume formula
but got no concrete proof out of him. When he confronted Jack with some
facts and some crafty lies, Jack threatened to sue Mergeron if Victor
kept pushing the issue. This made Victor so angry he belted Jack in the
face (and left a beauty of a bruise!).
Still outraged, Victor talked Nikki into quitting her modeling job at
Jabot. When faced with this, Jack squealed to her about Victor and Ashley's
night together in Corsica. This devestated Nikki (although I don't know
why considering that she had hopped into bed with Jack just two months
before). Now she is having Ashley over with Matt for dinner. Won't that be
fun!
In response to the inquiries about Jack and Terry Lester, Terry Lester had
asked CBS for more money and more time off from Y&R to do other projects.
He has done several TV movies and was even on $25,000 Pyramid! He settled
with CBS and is back, as is Jack, obviously.
Next update on 10/23 (Hopefully).

Tad and Dottie, due to exhaustion and mental distress, were caught in
bed by Hilary and Andrew, who had the diskette with them. Of course,
both Hilary and Andrew were disgusted and ran out of the roon. Andrew
went and got totally intoxicated at Foxies and Hilary was besides herself.
Well, in the meantime, Barton Crain discovered Tad and Dottie and chased
them through New York (It was more comical then serious). Finally, the
police arrested Tad and Dottie, while Barton got away, and are now
questioning them.
Woof.
Brook is interviewing people and getting on their nerves about Adam
Chandler's condition, which is very poor.
Gil (sp?) is still sleeping with Brook and Tom is getting disgusted
with her irresponsibility towards their daughter.
That's all for now. Sorry. Got to get back to work.

I just read this weekend that Terry Lester (Jack) re-signed with
Y&R for a deal worth one million dollars. Is that the highest
daytime soap pay, or does anyone know of someone making more?

I wouldn't doubt that he got a $1M deal, but, he probably got that
over a multi-year span. Terry isn't about to leave Y&R, it's his
meal ticket; remember that he has been with the show since day 1.

with the show for 20 years?????!!!!!! he's only around 30 or so..... do you
mean in a capacity other than acting, perhaps??? but not for 20 years....
Y&R hasn't been on for that long!!!! i started watching it when i was in the
5th grade, and i am now a junior in college, and the Abbott family didn't show
up till i was in high school....

I agree that Y&R hasn't been on 20 years (close, though) and that the
Abbott family (including Jack) didn't show up for a few years, but if
Terry Lester is "30 or so", I'm a variable precision logic. At the
very least, he's 36, but my guess is 38.
