- 25% MLAs (204 out of 813 analysed) in the 5 outgoing assemblies have pending criminal cases as per their affidavits in last elections (TN at top, followed by Kerala and WB)
83 MLAs (out of these 204) have serious criminal cases pending against them, 37 have murder related charges
About 50% MLAs (403 out of 813) did not declare their PAN cards in last elections
Barely 9.5% women MLAs (77) in outgoing assemblies (Puducherry has no women MLAs)
Mr Chittotosh Mukherjee (former Chief Justice of Mumbai High Court), Dr Amiya K. Samanta, (former DGP, WB), General(Retd) S K Pillai (Kerala), Moloy Sengupta(former Chief Justice, Sikkim), Mr Gopalaswami(former CEC, Chennai), others in Election Watch groups across states and UT appeal to parties to give tickets to honest and capable people only
