The old TreeView control has been just completely replaced with NEW
cool VirtualTreeView control. The existing functionality has been
ported to new architecture. I have deleted all the references to the
old control a few minutes ago and MLO is working much faster now. I
just like it! :)

Just some examples of what is working right now: you can select
*several* tasks and move them to the new parent, indent/outdent, copy
to clipboard, duplicate, skip occurrence, delete etc, etc. Undo
functionality has been reworked completely to support multiselection.
You can undo almost any operation now including complete recurrent
task etc. Undo is working after save the data file.

Changing the properties of the several selected tasks from inspector
is not implemented yet, but the new architecture and reworked Undo
Manager will allow me to do it.

You can drag several tasks to a group now to assign properties of this
group to the tasks. For example if you have a To-Do view grouped by
contexts you can drag several tasks to group “@Home” to assign this
context to all selected tasks.

As I informed earlier start date can be assigned without due date now.
The dates might be inherited from parent or not (so you can set due
dates on projects without setting them on subtasks). I am waiting for
Oleg to implement this on PocketPC also so that the sync works as
expected.

So the hard work I have been busy with the latest several month almost
finished and I just like the result! Just wanted to keep you informed.
I can’t wait to show you the new version. :)

The beta version will be released soon for beta tester first. Just
need to finish some minor things before this. The beta testers will
test the existing functionality under new architecture. After that
the new version (2.5) will be released. After the release I will start
to utilize the power of the improved architecture to release next MLO
versions .

If you think you are able to join the team of beta testers drop me a
message describing your testing experience.
I hope existing beta team is ready to try new beta soon.

Andrey.

A picture would help me understand this better.
Multiple selection isn't an issue for me. I am not clear what else
this brings, though I understand it has something to do with future
releases

Hey Andrey,

That's really great news. It's been a while since the last version was
released (the powerful filtering was such a godsend by the way) - I
can't wait to see the new version. the multi-select functionality will
make really make managing tasks much easier.

Best Regards,
Greg

This IS good news indeed!!! :)

I already am a member of MLO Beta. Will it be posted in this group or
should I apply for membership again?

Thanks in advance.
Dmitry

It is not needed to apply if you already in the beta testers team :)

The beta version will be announced in MLO-Beta group soon (I will
mention about this fact here also).

I will also respond to the applications I have received. Thanks for
those who applied for the MLO beta testing program!

Andrey.
