For a while now in TB3 it has been possible to locally delete a
newsgroup message. Since the discovery that this is not reversible with
"undo" the function has been turned off by default with a hidden pref. I
expect this will be the state in the TB 3.3 release.

To re-enable you can set the following pref to "true"
news.allow_delete_with_no_undo

Doesn't work here. Gives me the message about 'can't cancel because
message is not from you'

Still works in SM 2.1b3 :)

btw way your sig states you are using TB3. TB 3 could mean 3.0.x, 3.1.x
or 3.3ax or are you using all three?

I run 3.3 as my primary, but 3.1 just to verify interoperability, and
for bug triage. (against the same profile)
It has become a PIA to use 3.1 with a common profile, because of the new
extension manager.
Hmm.. Note to self That might be a pain point for those upgrading from
3.1 to 3.3 especially if you have extension compatibility disabled.

BTW the next time you update SM, it will stop working.
See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=651848
Which is mailnews core, so it should apply equally to SM

Who says I am going to update?

Anyway I can see where someone may want to undo an accidentally deleted
newsgroup message. I just repair the folder when that rarity (if ever)
occurs.

Ahh. That explains it. You said 'TB3', so I assumed the current 3.1.10.
