No problem here with a lot of extensions installed.
Perhaps the email program is not right registered like the default
email program.
Register another if you have an reregister your real default program

Thunderbird is the default email client. I will re-register.

FF 14.0.1: "Send Link" does not work, even when TB is open. What? am I
missing here? Thanks!

Usually this means that either FF is not registered completely with the
OS as the default browser, or that TB isn't registered as the default
email program.

Sometimes, even if it is, changing it to another ap then changing it
back sometimes gets it working again...

It could be you have the network.protocol-handler.external.mailto
preference set to false.

For more information see

True. It appears that Windows doesn't always seem to get the
information posted where it needs to be posted when a default is set
from within a program.

It was set to true, so neither of the links you graciously provided
seems to be the answer. Don't use the Google Toolbar, either.

There may be something wrong in the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox
profile folder, which contains settings for Applications that are opened
for different filetypes and download actions, including mailto actions.
I would try renaming that file to mimeTypes.rdfOLD with Firefox closed
and the restarting Firefox, which will generate a new mimeTypes.rdf
file. You can open the Firefox profile folder from the Help ->
Troubleshooting menu by clicking the Profile Folder button in the
Application Basics section.

You could also try manually selecting Thunderbird as the program to use
for mailto actions in your Firefox Options - Applications panel, even if
Thunderbird is already listed, by opening the drop-down menu for
"mailto", selecting "use other" and then clicking the "Browse" button.
See:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Changing_the_mail_program_used_in_Firefox#Choosing_a_different_mail_program_to_use_in_Firefox

A third option is to create a new Firefox profile - see
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
(or use the "Reset Firefox" option in the Troubleshooting Information
page, but that may be overkill).

Hey, that's great! Thanks for letting me know that options 1 & 2 both
worked. I've added that information to

This is your page Alice? If so you should keep an eye on the wording in
Firefox's Menus. I forget when but on July 5, 2012 with what was then
Firefox Nightly 16.0a1 it was changed from "Send Link..." to "Email
Link...".

Also "Send Image..." was changed to "Email Image..." at the same time.

Hi, David. It's not my page, it's an article in the MozillaZine KB
that I've done work on. I (or another KB editor) will eventually get
around to changes like that when they hit a release build :-)
