click on them and see what they are? In explorer, they had a list of
all internet pictures and cookies stored there. Here they don't
appear to.

For security reasons the cache entries do not have file ext3ensions that
yealds a clue to what content type they are. The cache indexes keep
track of what is being stored in the cache.

The trick is to use Firefox, not Windows explorer, to inspect Firefox's cache.
When you entered this in the URL bar
about:cache?device=disk
the page also shows a list of URLs in the cache. For example

Click on the underlined URL, and another page will open with

If you want to view the image from the cache
1. Put Firefox into off-line mode
File -> Work Offline
2. Then click the link on this second page.
Firefox does not store cookies in the cache directory -- cookies are
stored elsewhere.
To view the cookies, go to Tools -> Options -> Privacy
and click the "Show Cookies" button.

AIUI only the bigger ones get stored as separate files in the cache.
The smaller ones (which show "none") are stored inside one of the
three files "_CACHE_001_" "_CACHE_002_" "_CACHE_003_", much the
same as how cookies don't get their own individual files but are
stored in one file "cookies.txt".
You can still open the smaller ones from the cache, and also save
them out to files with "real" names.

I just had another look and yes, I do see some big ones with
the file associated to it. Thanks. Just learned something

Hey.. Yea.. i agree.. i cant find any!! But the problem here is, i am
using firefox portable!! Anyway to get my files from the temp
directory?

To find Firefox's temporary files, put the cursor in the URL box and
type "about:cache" (withenouten los quotations marks, of course.) I
presume that this works with FF portable, but cannot guarantee any such
thing; you'll have to try it yourself.
There are some FF extensions for working with the cache, listed at
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=cache&show=50 . As I
don't use any such extension, I cannot comment on efficacy thereof.

disregard the above information. The Portable Firefox
stores all the cache files and the profile files in the same
place as the program directory. Everything is stored
together, thats why its 'portable'.

Flash memory has a limited life cycle, far shorter than a hard disk. For this
reason the default setting for Portable Firefox is to have the cache disabled.
Unless you have changed it you won't have any cache files. You can turn it on
but that is only recommended for portable hard disks.
