Hi All,

I need Bugzilla to display local time. Local time is IST or GMT+5.3. Where
as Bugzilla generates warning if I mention IST or GMT+5.3. I know I am doing
something wrong here. How can I set the local time.

Thanks
Aravinda SH

Check the timezone of your bugzilla db server, also check the following
parameter...

http://domain.com/editparams.cgi?section=core#timezone

Is your bugzilla and your db on the same server ??

try setting the timezone as IST in the bugzilla params.

Shibashish,

Yes both are in the same server.

When I tried setting the time zone as IST got the following error message.

"The new value for timezone is invalid: must be empty or a legal timezone
name, such as PDT or JST. "

Bugzilla uses the module Time::Zone (part of the TimeDate package) to
calculate local time. Time::Zone has an entry for IST but it is commented
out (so are other time zones that aren't roundly based on GMT).

I have no idea why this is but you can try uncommenting the IST entry in
the Time::Zone package on your server and filing a bug with the developpers
of the TimeDate package.

Just so you know, Bugzilla will always display times in the
database server's time zone. What you put in the timezone parameter is
just a piece of text that gets displayed next to times.
