aloha!

it wasn't clear from:

http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Accessible_DHTML

where reports about the tests should be sent -- to this list or to
wai-...@w3.org, or logged in bugzilla, so i'm sending them to the
list in the hopes (a) that it may be of use, (b) that someone might
point me in the right direction as to providing such feedback, and
(c) for the group's general information.

1. http://www.mozilla.org/access/dhtml/pretty-slider.htm

tested with
* minefield (FF3) build 39a9pre (2007-10-10 build)
* JAWS 8.0.2137

RESULTS:
cannot use arrow keys to move slider; can get virtual cursor
to activate the buttons at each end of the slider, but cannot
otherwise manipulate slider with the keyboard (LeftArrow,
UpArrow, End, or Home)

2. http://www.mozilla.org/access/dhtml/simple-slider

tested with
* minefield (FF3) build 39a9pre (2007-10-10 build)
* JAWS 8.0.2137

RESULTS:
cannot use arrow keys to move slider; cannot get virtual cursor
to move the slider, nor to lock-in on the sliding mechanism;
cannot manipulate the simple slider with the keyboard (LeftArrow,
UpArrow, End, or Home)

3. http://www.mozilla.org/access/dhtml/progressbar

tested with
* minefield (FF3) build 39a9pre (2007-10-10 build)
* JAWS 8.0.2137

RESULTS:
activating "Load schedule" button resulted in the generation of
the schedule, but progress was only announced at 10% and 75%;
the schedule was not voiced when generated; querying the
progress bar informed me that it had hit 100%, but i needed to
issue another "read document from current position (ReviewAll)"
command in order to hear the schedule articulated

4. http://www.mozilla.org/access/dhtml/alert

tested with
* minefield (FF3) build 39a9pre (2007-10-10 build)
* JAWS 8.0.2137

"Create and Focus Button"
* worked as intended -- after button activated, focus was moved
to the new content and it was automatically spoken by JAWS

"Create - no focus"
* focus retained by button after activation, but contents of the
generated text was auto-read by JAWS

"Show (via visibility style) and Focus"
* focus moved from button, but querying current object with focus
(INSERT+TAB) resulted in the following string being read:
"text after to help selection view source"

"Show (via visibility style) - no Focus"
* activating this button resulted in nothing; focus retained by button

"Show (via display style) and Focus"
* could not ascertain if focus moved to generated text, as activating
the button and querying the object with focus, the "Show (via display
style - no focus" string was announced, even though i was no longer
on a button

"Show (via display style) - no Focus"
* activating this button resulted in nothing; focus retained by button

5. http://www.mozilla.org/access/dhtml/class/alert

tested with
* minefield (FF3) build 39a9pre (2007-10-10 build)
* JAWS 8.0.2137

5a) activating the "create button" resulted in no response from minefield
nor from JAWS

5b) activating the "Show via style" button resulted in the
auto-announcement "This popup is created as a div in the HTML
content, rather than being created in the DOM at the time of use.
The visibility style was changed from "hidden" to "visible" to
hide and show it. Close button." -- the generated "Close" button,
however, did not close the popup, but moved focus from the "Close"
button to the "Create" button

using keyboard commands; only by routing the JAWS cursor to the
"Close" button was i able to close the popup by simulating a
left mouse click

6. http://www.mozilla.org/access/dhtml/spreadsheet

tested with
* minefield (FF3) build 39a9pre (2007-10-10 build)
* JAWS 8.0.2137

accessing this page repeatedly caused minefield to crash, but when it
would restart, a dialog would alert me that the error report was not
submitted -- the error console reported:

[Exception... "'Component is not available' when calling method:
[nsIHandlerService::getTypeFromExtension]" nsresult: "0x80040111
(NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE)
location "<unknown>" data: no]
