The residents had linked the mast with 40 cases of cancer in Calle Ingeniero de la Torre Acosta

500 residents of a block in Calle Ingeniero de la Torre Acosta in Málaga have finally won a court case against Vodafone who had installed a Mobile phone base station on the roof of the block.

The residents claim the installation had lead to at least 30 cases of cancer, and the judge, María Isabel Gómez Bermúdez, ruled in their favour, despite the fact that they failed to prove a direct link between the illness and the antenna.

They also claimed that the safety of the building was compromised by the weight of the base station.
