You may be exposed to levels greater than the safety limit

CALIFORNIA...

Well, first the very good news...Senator Mark Leno of California has dropped the SAR language from his bill for warning labels on cell phones!! :) Below is the exact language and a link to the bill. It's not perfect, nor in my opinion completely true, as it implies that there is safe use with cell phones, provided you follow what the FCC has established as safety guidelines...and the FCC safety guidelines are not worth the paper they were written on...however, it's an improvement over merely placing the fairy tale of SAR on cell phones. It is a small step in the right direction and I feel it is actually industry friendly as it implies one can use one's cell phone safely. I think this bill is going to pass without a hitch. Again, it is not perfect, but better than no label or a huge improvement on SAR posting.

Also the odds are in CA's favor...The Lieutenant Governor of CA is the originator of the bill and the chair of this committee has long been an advocate of cell phone safety. If you would like to support the bill by reaching out to the senators on the committee, below is a link to the committee. You can call or email them or both. I have learned that just because they say "Yes" doesn't necessarily mean they do what they say, so even those who are in favor of the bill, feel free to send them an email of support. Again, it is not perfect, but better than what CA had previously brought last year and a step in the right direction...

"This device emits radiofrequency energy. Do not hold or carry it directly against the body when connected to a network or you may be exposed to levels greater than the safety limit established by the Federal Communications Commission. Consult the user's manual for additional information on safe use."

MAINE...

The bill did not pass...It is SO disappointing...Dr. David Carpenter and Dr. Henry Lai were absolutely amazing as our expert scientists. Enormous thanks to them for their energies and efforts...but it appears for the committee, even though many were actually convinced of the science, it came down to the "politics" which is a polite word for the "money". They would rather have their constituents get brain tumors or birth defects than "risk" giving them any useful information on cell phones. However, we had more votes than last time and there is no doubt that the straight talk language choices of Maine and Oregon has helped influence some of the changes in the CA language, so some good has come of it for CA and we think this bill will most likely pass. So progress is being made. Again the CA bill is not perfect, but it will generate much publicity and attention to the issue and hopefully will help as opposed to hurt our efforts to get something in the future that does not back in any way, the FCC false premise of safety.

PS, We are going to see if they can change the word "safe" on the label to "safer" as it is potentially misleading into a false sense of security and factually incorrect to say that there is safe use of cell phones at this time and more truthful to say "safer"...They may not do it but it's worth a try.

Sincerely Liz
