Dear Team,

The CER/CEA exchange observed with Mobicents DIAMETER stack has an
issue in the Origin-Host AVP.

The stack was inter-operated with a 3rd party DIAMETER stack and the
issue was observed as follows:

The Origin-Host AVP is defined in RFC 3588 and the RFC mandates that
the value of this AVP should be of type DiameterIdentity. Reference:
RFC 3588, Section 6.3

DiameterIdentity contains the FQDN which consists of the IP, Port and
transport parameters without the aaa:// URI deceleration. Reference:
RFC 3588, Section 4.3. Derived AVP Data Formats.

When we look at the wireshark trace from the Mobicents DIAMETER stack,
the value in the Origin-Host AVP is of type DiameterURI and not
DiameterIdentity.

Expanded Wireshark Trace:
----------------------------------------

AVP: Origin-Host(264) l=30 f=-M- val=aaa://172.16.71.4:3000
AVP Code: 264 Origin-Host
AVP Flags: 0x40
AVP Length: 30
Origin-Host: aaa://172.16.71.4:3000

The value should not have a aaa:// as the AAA URI is included in
DiameterURI types only.

Best Regards

Hi Aayush,

Thanks for the issue.

Can you please check if you are using the UseUriAsFqdn set to true in jdiameter-config.xml ? That would cause it, and if so, you should set it to false.

Regards,

The parameter solved the issue. Thanks! The google code issue can be invalidated.
