I've been vacant from the mailing list the past week while working on
an exciting project. A team with the Smithsonian has been working on
making 3D films of the last few shuttle launches and are running a
special version of Magic Lantern to trigger the cameras inside of the
pad's danger zone. I've been at Cape Canaveral to provide on-site
support and have enjoyed amazing behind-the-scenes access.

Here's a framegrab from yesterday's launch video, 5D Mark 2 with 50mm,
f/11 @ 1/1000th running Magic Lantern:

Hah, eat your heart out Canon.

Do you need to sync the cameras for 3d?  Are there any special capabilities in the ML version you used?

Congratulations!

That's really something impressive. Congratulations!
I'm really curious about how did you sync the cameras! :-)

The next step is to go into the shuttle and to take 3D photos of earth or a moving timelapse ;-).

Congratulations!!!

Even though I'm so late I just have to say: wow, what a cool experience. If anyone says camera hacking is a waste of time, this says "shut up".
