cover the nations highways with pizeo electric crystals-about where the
wheel lanes are- then have the crystals supply electricity to
streetlights..

HOWS THAT FOR INSANE!!!


seriously, any thoughts anyone? they work by compression and release, -cars
running them over could do that- and generate a spark, this could be fed
into a capacitor setup.. and provide juice on a supplemental level..maybe
power a city??

That would take a lot of quartz...making very little power. The amount of
current that one would get would be extremely small. In other words it
would not work.

I'm not sure you'd get enough amperage to produce a good spark. In any event,
it wouldn't be any worse than the ped head conduits, phone lines, and misc.
other underground facilities that are already under the road.
