I have one of those "toys" that swing back and forth 'forever' helped by a
magnetic field created by a coil and a transsistor connected to a 9V
battery. It stoped swinging; the coil seems to be OK, so I want to replace
the transistor. It has the following printed on its face, in three lines as
I show next:

LC
945P
M140

What's the transistor's type: LC945P, 945P, M140? Where can I order one?

Thank you

It's a Japanese part number... it's a 2sc945. Cant recall if it's PNP
or NPN. It's general purpose and either a 2n2222 or a 2n3906 will work
in it's place, except the pin out is different. Radio shack should be
able to cross reference the 2SC945 to something they sell.

Happy tinkering!
