African-American Heritage Museum and Cultural Center UPDATE #3 (1998):
"The Youth Action Committee Takes Control Of The Last Black Institution
In Seattle!"
As predicted, last night's meeting at SVI was indeed turbulent. The
uncle toms brought in 3 uniformed Seattle Police officers, along with
East Precinct Lt. Harry Bailey (local "Weed and Seed director and 32nd
degree freemason).
So far, all the communiques I've sent out have been very long (and I
apologize to those who weren't trying to read all of that), but I felt
it was important in order for those who weren't there, particularly
those outside of Seattle, to have a clear picture of what's going on;
thus all the details. I'll try to be brief with this one and anyone have
questions please feel free to email me, write, or call the museum at
206-320-9321 for more info. Again, let me also offer everyone the
opportunity to review the relevant documents for themselves, send us $2
for postage and we'll send you copies of everything we have.
To begin with, none of the grassroots concerns were on the agenda that
Bob and Co. prepared. In addition, the committee reports were fabricated
due to the fact that the only committees for the museum that have been
meeting regularly at the museum offices are the Youth Action Committee
and African International Affairs Committee. Omari Tahir, founder of the
museum/cultural center started the meeting with the complete history up
to the illegal activities of Bob Flowers, Bob Luciano, Pat Chandler, and
Harolynn Bobis (and others). He cited the relevant Revised Codes of
Washington and told the crowd of 100 or so what else the 'toms have been
doing.
Bob then got up to speak, after he and his clique made numerous
attempts to silence bro. Omari (by the way, we will soon have videotapes
available of the meeting for anyone who is interested). He was then cut
off due to the fact that he was 1.) not following "robert's rules of
order" (as per our bylaws) and 2.) he left out key details about the
building purchase, board resolutions, etc.
Kwame Tahir, Omari's son and one of the original Colman School
occupiers (he was doing armed guard duty at 9 years old!), then read the
Youth Action Committee (YAC) statement, which ended with the dismissal
of Bob Flowers, Bob Luciano, Pat Chandler, Harolynn Bobis, Benester
Fields, Tillman Parramore, Michael Greenwood, Danny Piecora, Sam Ezedin,
Rodney Proctor, and other negro conspirators (complete list coming
soon). This was enforced at the end of the meeting when all 20 of the
Youth Action Committee members and other supporters lined up shoulder to
shoulder at the front of the room during Bob Flowers' speech and
officially declared us and the progressive elders the new leadership of
the African-American Heritage Museum and Cultural Center in Seattle,
Washington.
People in attendence included most of the major uncle toms in Seattle
such as King County Councilman Larry Gossett, the assistant director of
Seattle Vocational Institute (who's name I forget; sorry), Afro-American
Business and Employment Journal publisher Charlie James, and former
AAHM&CC director Earl Debnam. There were also major Jewish business
people there as well such as Walter Shacht (an architect).
Mr. Shacht got BLASTED by the youth for taking a $74,000 contract and
not hiring any Blacks. He also got BLASTED for offering Kwame Tahir only
$8.00/hr. to work for him. This is the same chump who attempted on
several occasions to tell us what we could or could not have in our
peoples museum and cultural center! I was floored to learn that the
Jewish Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. was created via an act of
U.S. Congress and receives taxpayer dollars every year from Congress for
operating expenses. I believe they should have a museum of that type,
but what about us? "We've lost our religion, our culture, our God; and
many of us by the way we act we've even lost our minds" (Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr.) and we don't even get an apology, let alone
reparations and self-determination.
THE PEOPLE HAVE STOOD UP! THE WAR IS ON! WE'VE COME FOR WHAT'S OURS!
Lt. Bailey told Omari after the meeting that if anything happened to Bob
Flowers, he would arrest ALL of us. He also accused Omari of being a
"gang leader". As many of you are aware, when a group is designated as a
"gang" or "criminal organization", this opens the door for all kinds of
intimidation and repression from all areas of law enforcement, from the
local police to the CIA. In other words: THEY ARE GEARING UP TO KILL US!
Why else would Lt. Harry Bailey, in his position a [major] law
enforcement professional in this city (precinct commander), make such a
statement? Clearly it is in order to create a political climate that
would allow for Seattle Police Department (and no doubt the FBI
eventually) to do us like they did the Black Panther Party.
NOW MORE THAN EVER WE NEED THE TOTAL SUPPORT OF THE WORLD!
ASASSINATIONS AND MASSACRES ARE ONLY A MATTER OF TIME! We have shown the
negros, downtown white supremacy, local Zionists, and others that we are
" 'bout it 'bout it!" are far as our community and our people are
concerned. We have only begun to demonstrate to the world that [young]
Black people are fed up and are going to finish what was started in the
1960's (and before).
KEEP THOSE SUPPORT LETTERS COMING! ALSO, CONTACT THE MUSEUM ABOUT HAVING
GUEST SPEAKERS COME TO YOUR COMMUNITY TO TELL OUR STORY AND SHARE OUR
EXPERIENCES AND STRATEGIES WITH YOU.
WE ALSO NEED MONEY, LOTS OF IT. SO START DIGGING NOW, I'LL POST A PLACE
FOR YOU TO SEND IT AND WHO TO MAKE IT OUT TO BEFORE THE WEEKEND IS OVER.
IF YOU'RE IN SEATTLE, DROP BY AND VISIT.
PLEASE COPY AND DISTRIBUTE FAR AND WIDE! WE ARE FIGHTING FOR OUR LIVES!
DON'T LET THE ILLUSION OF A "CALM" COMMUNITY FOOL YOU!
Thank you for your time and attention.

Volunteer, AAHM&CC.
