[Mifos-users] How to change the Mifos logo

Just thought I’d share this quick tip. If you are looking to change the Mifos logo with one of your own (or in order to identify different machines easily like myself) you just need to replace the following file with your own: tomcat/webapps/mifos/pages/framework/images/logo.gif **
Due note that this is not a permanent change and I suspect there may be instances where the file will get overwritten with the original (like deploying a new war?). I “believe” the way to replace it permanently would be to download the mifos source, replace the file and compile your own war file.

** I also recommend using the same image dimensions as the original. I just opened the file and edited it.

How about setting up a space at the other end of the header, perhaps moving the Your settings/Logout items, to allow MFIs to brand their instance(s) while keeping the Mifos logo? Possibly the best of both worlds.
I like the idea of retaining the Mifos logo to acknowledge the efforts of the Grameen Technology Centre and volunteer community.
I agree with you comment about identifying different machines. I’ve been involved in the aftermath of someone applying updates to a production system when they thought they were logged in to test!
It might require some code changes to leave the space blank if no user-defined logo is presented. The location of the user-defined logo could be stored in a configuration file that won’t be clobbered by an update.

Absolutely. Believe me I was a bit hesitant to post “hey, change our logo” but it was a piece of information I was looking for and thought others might appreciate.
