The equations created wont display properly

I've installed equation editor on Word succesfully. However as I enter
equations via the equation toolbar they will not display properly and are
unidentifiable. I'm guessing that I am missing a font but I've installed
everything that I can.
Any ideas?

I was facing the same problem and I have reinstalled office xp thrice since
last night - to no avail!

I was begining to get a bit under pressure because I have to finish my test
project working from home.

I am so thankful I found this critical 'piece' of information here.
