1. Draw a rectangle the size of the picture. Format it with no border,
filled with white.
2. Draw a circle of the size that you want your picture to end up. Format it
no border, filled with any solid colour.
3. Position the circle on top of the rectangle, in the position you want to
retain from your picture.
4. Select the rectangle and circle together. Press Ctrl-X to cut.
5. Select Edit > Paste Special. Choose GIF as the format.
6. Select 'Set transparency' from the Picture toolbar. Click inside the
circle.
You should now have a white rectangle with a transparent hole in it.
Position this over your original picture.
